Paleo Earth
  The age of the Earth is about 4.54 ± 0.05 billion years (4.54 × 109 years ± 1%), thus 4540 Ma.
This dating is based on evidence from radiometric age dating of meteorite material and is consistent with the radiometric ages of the oldest-known terrestrial and lunar samples.
Ma (for megaannus), is a unit of time equal to one million years. "Ma" is commonly used in scientific disciplines such as geology, palaeontology.
The age of the Earth is very helpful in studying plate tectonics and drifts, earthquake and exploring petroleum. On the basis of it, the boundary of plates is easily distinguished.
